VLC media player 0.9.2 (Grishenko) is a cross-platform media player and media server for various audio and video formats as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. This 0.9.2 version includes a new interface for Linux and Windows. You can read a full list of new features here. In this post, I also include the 0.8.6 version interface as below for a comparison to the new 0.9.2 version above.

It has been my favorite media player either in Linux or Windows platform. I am able to play large number of multimedia formats, without the need for installing additional codecs into my system. However, I am able to use VLC as a streaming server. You should give it a try.

Fortunately, today I have a great opportunity to meet the new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 launched a week ago in US. This great opportunity is brought to me during a Product Passion Road Show held in my office, Dell Cyberjaya. In fact, there are other laptops such as Dell Studio and Dell Latitude E series too. Thanks to EJ (the person on the right in the above photo) on helping me to take the photos above.
