Dell Launched Inspiron Mini 9

Dell officially launched the Inspiron Mini 9 on Thursday September 4, 2008. This light, small and easy-to-carry Inspiron Mini 9 is complete with connectivity features and it is an on-the-go lifestyle for everyone to connect to their online world be it web browsing, instang messaging, blogging, uploading photos or enjoying favorite online games, music and video.

With the introduction starting price of $349, Inspiron Mini 9 is equiped with an Intel Atom Processor N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache), Mini OS powered by Ubuntu 8.04, a glossy 8.9 inch LED display (1024X600), 512MB DDR2 at 533MHz, 4GB solid state drive, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950, wireless 802.11g mini card, 32WHr battery (4 cell) and you will get a 2GB of free internet storage from Box.net.

However, you have the option to customize the Inspiron Mini 9 specs like cover colour, increase the memory, increase the hard drive, add Bluetooth, add integrated webcam and you can change operating system (OS) to Windows XP Home Edition instead with Dell’s online customization tool.     These laptops look pretty cool. The only thing that I don’t like about them is that they max out at 1 GB of memory. That’s pretty low for todays standards and it should be much higher. I guess the extremely small size limits how powerful the machine can be though.
