I installed vmware exsi however when I went to create a vm I found that I needed windows client software. Thats not free, so whats the use of exsi? I also don't have windows on any bare metal machines here... cause its too unstable for that. Is there a management client for linux/mac?

Hello
I'm phasing some issues with the installation.
I have a server HP proliant DL360 G3 with 2 processors and 1GB of memory.
Regarding the minimum requirement's of esx it should work.
When i'm booting up with the cd on it the server say's "booting from CD" but nothing happened. Do you have any idea why does this happening?
Thank's in advance
Dimitris

If you have vmware virtual machines already and want to use them with VMware ESXi 3.5. You must convert them with the vmware converter starter edition. It will automatically in the conversion process upload those virtual machines to your ESXi server. Of course to do the conversion you need a windows machine to do it. I had about 8 vmware 2.0 machines that converted perfectly.
