25 Must Have Mozilla Firefox Extensions

After one month of Firefox 3.0 released, finally I upgraded the Firefox 2.0.0.16 to Firefox 3.0.1 for my company’s notebook. I have no worries about all the extensions installed because the extensions I am using are compatible with Firefox 3.0.1 and there are many extensions available out there. That’s here I come in to recommend 25 must have extensions for hardcore web surfers and developers. Try Firefox 3.0.1 with the 25 extensions listed below and see for yourself their usefulness today.

Adblock Plus – Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the internet that often take longer to download than everything else on the page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them.

ColorZilla – Advanced Eyedropper, ColorPicker, Page Zoomer and other colorful goodies…

DownThemAll! – The first and only download manager/accelerator built inside Firefox!

Google Icon – Adds favicon to google search results.

GooglePreview – Inserts preview images (thumbnails) of web sites into the Google and Yahoo search results pages.

Exif Viewer – Displays the Exif and IPTC data in local and remote JPEG images.

Fast Dial – Fast access to your favorite sites through thumbnails, like Opera speed dial.

Firesizer – Allows you to resize the window to specific dimensions.

Fission – Fission combines address bar and progress bar (Safari style). This makes the progress bar more visible and allows for a nice visual effect.

Flagfox – Displays a country flag in the status bar depicting the location of the current website’s server, and provides quick access to detailed location and webserver information.

FoxClocks – FoxClocks lets you keep an eye on the time around the world – or just your local time – by putting small clocks in your statusbar. Choose from a set of useful time formats or create your own – custom formats are easy to create and very flexible.

Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer – If you use Firefox on more than one computer, you’ll want Foxmarks. Install Foxmarks on each computer, and it will work silently in the background to keep your bookmarks synchronized. You can also log in to my.foxmarks.com to manage your bookmarks from any computer.

FoxyProxy – FoxyProxy is an advanced proxy management tool that completely replaces Firefox’s limited proxying capabilities.

MeasureIt – Draw out a ruler to get the pixel width and height of any elements on a webpage.

Morning Coffee – Keeps track of daily routine websites and opens them in tabs…

NewsFox – NewsFox is an efficient 3-pane(email) style Atom/RSS feed reader.

NoScript – The best security you can get in a web browser! Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS.

Quick Locale Switcher – Allows you to quickly switch to a different language (User Interface, Spell Checker Dictionary and Website content) in your Mozilla application.

QuickRestart – Ever needed to restart Firefox after enabling or disabling an extension, switching to a new theme, or modifying configuration files (such as userChrome.css or user.js)?

Screengrab! – Screengrab saves entire webpages as images.

Server Spy – Server Spy indicates what brand of HTTP server (e.g. Apache, IIS, etc.) runs on the visited sites.

StatusbarEx – Show some useful information on statusbar of firefox, such as the memory usage of system & firefox itself, network speed, system power status, etc.

StumbleUpon – StumbleUpon discovers web sites based on your interests, learns what you like and brings you more.

Tab Scope – Preview and navigate tab contents through popup.

Undo Closed Tabs Button – Tired of going to History -> Recently Closed Tabs just to undo a closed tab? Then this extension is for you! This extension allows you to undo closed tabs via a toolbar and/or tab bar button or the right-click context menu.
