Next, its time for me to give my personal opinion (be it positive and negative). I am a former Exabytes reseller. The service and support provided by Exabytes is excellent. The network and servers uptime are excellent. The followup of support and sales email are excellent. I would like to comment on Exabytes’ Shared Linux Web Hosting and VPS Linux Hosting.

Under this Shared Linux Web Hosting, Exabytes is providing three plans. They are EBiz Plus, EBiz Gold and Semi-D. The amount disk space alloted for EBiz Plus is 10GB, EBiz Gold is 300GB and Semi-D is 50GB. The number of accounts hosted per server for EBiz Plus is 300, EBiz Gold is 300 and Semi-D is 5. The price for 1 year subscription for EBiz Plus is RM269 and EBiz Gold is RM399 whereas Semi-D is RM239 per month. I have a doubt on how much storage space is available per server. Are they using internal disk or SAN storage? My personal opinion is EBiz Gold is overselling. The market for share web hosting is very competitive and I also do notice that all other web hosting providers are overselling too.

Finally, the VPS Linux Hosting, the features and price are not attractive. The setup duration takes 3 to 14 working days. Thats too long. I have experienced with other providers, they can provision a VPS within the same day of subscription and some even faster, within an hour. Instant setup. I would like to recommend Exabytes to add new plans with features like unmetered data transfer with rate limit. For example 1Mbps, 2Mbps and 3Mbps. They should also consider other virtualization product like Xen. I wonder how many VPS is hosted within the physical server and what is the specification of the server.
