Streamyx Combo Failed Me

I read The Star newspaper Saturday’s edition on Sunday and found out Streamyx is having a promotion called Streamyx Combo. From the newspaper, they are promoting UNLIMITED Broadband with NO Fixed Line Rental. I am excited with this news because I am paying RM 103 monthly for my 1 Mbps Streamyx broadband plus fixed line rental. There is no information in the newspaper. So, I decided to search in their website and found they revamp the website too. Thumbs up.

Found the Streamyx Combo promotion website but nothing show up as below. Serving ASP pages in Apache. Hmm… I clicked on the packages.asp file and manage to read it with my bare eyes.

The packages offered by Streamyx Combo are: -

* 384 kbps – RM 60 per month
* 512 kbps – RM 90 per month
* 1 Mbps – RM 110 per month
* 2 Mbps – RM 140 per month
* 4 Mbps – RM 160 per month

Both the 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps packages looks pretty attractive but I am afraid that these two packages is available in selected areas only. For the price I am paying, it is not worth for me to change to Streamyx Combo. I will not change. How about you?

    The package by Celcom pretty good too. RM 109 for streamyx and wireless broadband.

    the price a bit expensive as have been using package 88 and since dunno when the bill come to rm 66 per month and the speed still the same. Been using streamyx quite some times.

    streamyx combo is a rip-off, period. the so called “free” phone line is actually covered back by the insanely high monthly access fees. we’re paying rm88 now for 1mbps plus rm25 for phone line, totaling rm113. streamyx combo 1mbps is rm110. big f**king deal. gimmick alert! useless crony company.

    I will be very happy if they could have the following package for 1Mbps (waive monthly phone line rental): -

    Without modem = RM 77/month
    With modem = RM 88/month

    Feature: -
    * Unlimited Internet access
    * Unlimited call from your TM Homeline to any TM fixed line nationwide
    * Special FLAT RATE call charge at 3 cent / minute from your TM Homeline to any mobile and non-TM fixed line numbers nationwide

    This will be cool, :D

    the combo deal is not much a deal. let’s just hope for a better one from them (or from any other service providers!! let’s pray hard guyz) in future

    this combo package is useless, always DC and slow like hell.
    they kept promoting their product which cant even satisfied their clients, i can assure for the next 5 to 10 year TM will be still the same. they gave 1million $$ (OUR MONEY) for their lucky millionaire winner. FCUK them, why didnt use this fund for something usefull like upgrading their Hardware/system.

    May i know what ISP should i choose right now? i wan more reliable, stable connection, any suggestion? Currently looking for streamyx combo RM60 package…what do u think about 384kbps speed? is it consider enough? I just use it alone and no other people will goig to share internet with me..Normally i will use internet to do surfing, blogging, facebooking, msn chatting and downloading drama 200-220mb for each file…

    What do u think about other ISP like celcom broadband, maxis broadband with similar requirement(384kbps)?

    Mind to share a little with me since i never have Internet at home before…

    imDavidLee, I would not recommend you to take any wireless broadband like celcom, maxis or etc

    better go for wired broadband, if you don’t mind to wait for download, then Streamyx Combo 384kbps is good for you…
