The first official stable version of Elive 1.0 has finally been released on July 5, 2007. It is a Debian based distribution and Enlightenment powered. Elive’s goal is to turn your old computer into a high-powered work-station again, with an Interface that dazzles everybody that sees it.

I remember reading a development version of Ubuntu catered for the multimedia flers.. can’t remember it of my head right now …
